Workshops
Combine discovery and inspiration with your stay !
We organize two permaculture weekends in 2026 (in the french language). For a groupe of 4-6 persons, we can organise the weekend in English on request.
Julien regularly leads exploration workshops near the guest house or in the gardens. You will find all the information below. It is possible to organize them on request (in English) for groups between 4 and 20 people, whether you are individuals, companies or public authorities.

Weekend permaculture
Join us for a weekend of discovery and relaxation in the beautiful Vosges mountains. In less than an hour’s drive from Strasbourg or Colmar, you will find the small village of Maisonsgoutte nestled in a picturesque valley.
Immerse yourself in the rhythm of the countryside. In the permaculture garden, each season is unique. In spring, watch the bees and butterflies on the first flowers; in summer, enjoy the abundance of fruit; in autumn, take in the vibrant changing colours; and in winter, experience the intense silence. We invite you to take your time and breathe in nature.
In a small group of up to six people, you will reconnect with the history of our planet during a transformative walking experience that fosters a deep connection with Gaia. You will learn the basics of permaculture, including its ethics and principles, design, and how to start implementing them in your life and garden (or balcony!). During a collective intelligence game, you will explore the principles of a food forest and learn about its key elements and benefits. Naturally, we will get our hands dirty to put theory into practice and see what we can harvest from the garden for our meals.
Your trainers
We are Roos and Julien, and we have lived in Maisonsgoutte since 2022, where we started Le Nouveau Printemps. We have transformed the large grassland behind our house into a permaculture garden and planted over 150 trees and shrubs in recent years.
Roos started out gardening in a small communal garden in the Netherlands, where she followed Permaculture Design (PDC) and foraging courses. She is a member of the Natural Garden Association in the valley. Julien is an experienced trainer in food and agricultural transition, as well as being a certified Deep Time Walk facilitator. He works with professionals and university students.

A Deep Time Walk is a 4.6 km storytelling walk to travel through the 4.6 billion years of Earth’s history and relive, step by step, each significant event in the emergence and evolution of life on Earth. A fun, sensory, instructive and poetic experience, to reconnect with our planet, with the long term, with our ancestors and with all living things.

From 4 to 20 people.
The Forest Gardens Fresk
Why are forest gardens called edible forests? What are the different elements that make them up? How are they constructed in time and space? What are the benefits?
The Forest Garden Fresk is a collective intelligence workshop that allows you to answer (among other things!) all these questions in 2h30. Inspired by the pedagogy of the climate fresk, the workshop is played in small groups around fifty cards. It will allow you to discover in an efficient way all the key concepts of these agroforestry systems… and find inspiration for your projects!
The first public session of this workshop created by Mathieu Petot took place at Le nouveau printemps in August 2024! The fresk has since gained national fame.
Julien brings it to life by mixing theory and practical cases in the heart of our garden!
From 4 to 16 people.

Designing our low carbon lives
Created by a permaculturist, this game allows us to concretely rethink our lives and a low-carbon society to keep a habitable planet. It is urgent, vital and it feels good!
During the 3 hours of the workshop you will know the essential orders of magnitude and imagine together necessary, possible and desirable actions for climate, biodiversity and above all your life. We do not leave aside the personal benefits that such an approach brings you!
Julien guides you on a journey that suits you and inspires you. Don’t hesitate to ask for a session in the heart of the green nature of Le nouveau printemps.
From 4 to 20 people. We also offer a version for 2 people, which is shorter, depending on your desire from 1h30 to 2h30.
