Hiking in the Vosges

The Vosges is a paradise for hikers because of its diversity : from open land, forest, gentle hilly walks suitable for all to more challenging discoveries in length, elevation or both.

 

On this page we share different hikes starting from the bed & breakfast, unless indicated otherwise. You can follow the link and download the route onto your device. If you would like to walk low-tech, you can take one of the maps available in the common room.

Maisonsgoutte – Breitenbach  |  6 km, roundtrip

An easy tour through pastures and forest. Open landscapes.

 

Maisonsgoutte – Nusbaumer  |  6 km, roundtrip

Visit the NUSBAUMER distillery by foot. Nice forest and pasture walk. Easy.

Maisonsgoutte – Villé  |  8 km, roundtrip

Hike to Villé in 40 minutes by pasture paths and villages. Very pleasant return through the forest in little over 1 hour. Very easy.

Maisonsgoutte – Albé  |  10 km, roundtrip

Reach the winegrowers’ village on foot. The views are magnificent. The path also takes you through pastures, forests and vineyards.

 

Maisonsgoutte – La Honel  |  10 km, roundtrip

Climb to the highest point of Maisonsgoutte. Very beautiful views of the Vosges and the Black Forest. Difficulty: medium

Maisonsgoutte – Niedermatten  |  10.5 km, roundtrip

Very nice tour through pastures, forest and the village of Breitenbach. Halfway through it passes by the Lindgrube farm and the Niedermatten restaurant where you can have lunch. Check the opening hours before leaving. Easy hike.

Thanvillé – Falkenstein – Bernstein  |  11 km, roundtrip

Starting point: Thanvillé (10 minutes’ drive from Maisonsgoutte, parking in Thanvillé, rue de l’Ecole). Beautiful trails, extraordinary view of the Falkenstein Rock, passing by Bernstein ruin and forest chapel.

Maisonsgoutte – Cascade du Hohwald  |  19 km, roundtrip

One of the most beautiful hikes from the B&B! The ascent of the Champ du Feu massif from the south slope is long and steady. For hikers in good physical condition. Not to be missed: the small detour to the viewpoint over the Villé valley.
