On 11 October, Fête du Sol Vivant (Living Soil week) kicked off in our gardens! In collaboration with SMICTOM and SDEA, we organised a guided tour in the garden with special focus on the food forest.
Food forest
Attendance was excellent, with 25 people eager to learn about the forest garden. In three hours, we covered several topics such as green water, plant guilds, trees that serve as the ‘salad bar’ in the forest, the dome greenhouse with bioclimatic features and dry hedges and their various functions.
Pascal from SMICTOM explained how to make good compost and the chop-and-drop technique. Julien and Juliette from SDEA also helped us with the presentation.
For a first visit open to the public, it was a very good experience and we are delighted with the enthusiasm of the participants. We would like to thank SMICTOM and SDEA for this opportunity and everyone who attended.
